I originally came out to the Telos to be a surf guide at Telo Island Lodge. I’d worked on the tools since I’d left school and needed a break from it. I guided for about a year, and then the idea to build a new lodge over at Pinnacles came up. The owner, Ryder, knew I was a carpenter and already had me doing bits and pieces around the lodge. He asked if I’d be keen to build ‘Pinnacles on Telo’ and I thought I’d have a crack.
