Niki’s Top Three

ELLEN ECKER OGDEN, celebrated garden and food writer and the co-founder of The Cook’s Garden, once told me that 80 percent of a vegetable garden should be devoted to family favorites and tried-and-true varieties, and the other 20 percent should be new or new-to-you crops. I took that advice to heart.
