Oyster 565
The long awaited 565 is the first sixth generation model in Oyster’s most popular size range. “Like its immediate forebears – the 56 and 575 – it represents a thoroughly capable bluewater yacht that can be managed by an owner-skipper without a resident crew,” says designer Rob Humphreys.
The design takes the core principles of the larger G6 models, including the 885 and 675, and applies these to a smaller boat. Given existing Oyster owners account for 40% of orders, feedback from previous owners was an important factor in informing the design.
Like the larger G6 models, the 565 is a twin wheel, twin rudder yacht, with shorter overhangs and the beam carried further aft than in previous generations. It also benefits from a clean, flush deck without sacrificing any of the key seamanlike features Oyster owners expect, such as plenty of handholds.
