The Karrabing Film Collective was formed in 2008, following the Australian government’s Northern Territory Emergency Response or “Intervention” of 2007, when federal representatives suspended the protections of the Racial Discrimination Act, sent the army into areas of the Northern Territory, and raided the homes of a number of Indigenous families.
