Locura by Pattern Studio

The design for Locura, a new bar in Byron Bay from hospitality group Three Blue Ducks, is defined by the use of tactile materials in a largely undecorated space. Given a brief to create a contemporary interpretation of a “Mexican restaurant in Australia,” Pattern Studio sought to echo the humble character and raw beauty of small, late-night venues found across Mexico City. The material palette embraces concrete, grey brick and mild steel.
