CREATE A TUNE IN ABLETON LIVE 10

Welcome to MusicTech's Ableton Live 10 Focus! We're going to kick things off with a refresher course in Ableton Live for newcomers to the software or those returning to the latest version, Live 10. In putting this tutorial together we wondered what the best approach would be to lead both newcomers and version 10 owners through the software. We decided, what better way than simply to create a piece of music in the software!

In this first tutorial, then, we'll start from scratch, go back to basics and create a tune within Live's two main windows. On the way we'll explore some new instruments and effects, and also look at other features that come with the software and use them to edit our piece of music. (For more depth on all the new Live 10's features, check out some of Martin Delaney's excellent workshops starting on p36.)
