We Scream For Icecream

Tips

✦ The world’s your oyster when it comes to adding sweet treats to your icecream – use your imagination and add in gummy lollies to make your own goody goody gum drop version, or Skittles or Jaffas to customise our Chocolate Munchies recipe.

✦ Icecream doesn’t have to be served in a bowl or a cone – have it in between wafers or cookies for an icecream sandwich, or on top of cupcakes.

✦ Experiment with deep-frying icecream for the ultimate treat – yes, it’s possible! Freeze solid scoopfuls, then cover with flour, egg and batter. Once it’s deep-fried, the icecream will have a crispy shell.

✦ Getting the kids involved in making icecream is easy, and a great way to introduce them to cooking. Plus, they’ll enjoy the finished product even more knowing that they made it themselves!

✦ Homemade icecream is the perfect dish to take to a summer BBQ – your host will appreciate the effort you’ve gone to.

✦ Always remember to leave enough time for your creation to freeze – make your icecream before anything else on the menu. If we’ve learnt nothing else from reality cooking shows, it’s that it’s always the icecream that takes the longest!
