Komatsu’s recent ‘Dig Day Out’ provided a rare and valuable opportunity for industry to get hands-on with its current range of machinery fitted with the latest technology from key providers. Ron Horner writes

Komatsu’s ‘Dig Day Out’, held on a vacant site on Boundary Road in Wacol just prior to Christmas, provided the perfect location to showcase a massive array of the company’s equipment both for visual display as well as full working mode.

But the day was not all about Komatsu, with its technology partners, Position Partners and UNISI, showing off intelligent positioning and safety systems fitted to the newest machinery models for contractors to get down and dirty in a real workplace, with state-of-the-art gear.

The early summer heat in Brisbane didn’t detract from the interest shown by members of the public, with hordes of interested people swarming the site
