Disney villainess Jolie might be the marquee name – as Thena, warrior princess – brethren Madden and Harington, are an array of BAME talents: Oscar-nominated writer/star Kumail Nanjiani, deaf actress Lauren Ridloff, ’s Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek and ’ Gemma Chan, doing MCU double duties after appearing in as the unrelated Minn-Erva. Like Ridloff, her character, Makkari, is deaf, an MCU first, and one male part is gay, by the way; “He’s married, he’s got a family and that is just part of who he is,” says Kevin Feige.
