A QUIET PLACE PART II

ohn Krasinski’s taut, smart 2018 horror was no franchise bolt-on or flashy slasher, so before its debut at SXSW few might have expected it to become the box-office champ it did ($341m) with great reviews and awards to boot. A self-contained (in every sense) Hitchcockian nailbiter following a sign-language-using family surviving in a post-apocalyptic world where ended on a cliffhanger that thrilled audiences… but also left the door open for a possible sequel. And although the first film was not designed to spawn a franchise, a follow-up story nevertheless coalesced for Krasinski and super-secret filming began this summer in upstate New York.
