Somewhere halfway between northern Russia and the North Pole, off a location on the Franz Josef Land archipelago called Cape Flora, lies the historic British, Arctic-research vessel named the that sank on its maiden voyage – and researchers on board during the Russian Maritime Heritage “Open Ocean 2017” expedition, believe they found its remains while towing a sonar unit at a depth of 65 feet (20 metres) of water off Northbrook Island in August 2017.
