NO AVERAGE JOE
Hey guys, Damo here. I met Joe Pichler at the KTM 790 Adventure launch in Morocco. At dinner one night, Joe presented a slideshow and a talk on some of his adventures and we were all blown away. He and his wife, Renate, have covered so many miles together and amassed so many stories, and it seems to be a life so very well lived on the back of a single motorcycle.
Joe’s time was in heavy demand during the launch and it was hard to get a quiet moment with him. I did have a great lunchtime conversation one day, however, which was once again filled with stories we won’t forget. But it was so off the cuff I didn’t record it. Damn…

And so I turned to KTM, who did have a recorder handy to interview Joe for the KTM blog site and graciously allowed us to print the interview. Enjoy a tiny fraction of Joe’s story and take note of his pearls of wisdom along the way. And, yes, he has been doubling his partner around the world since the late 1980s. Nothing about these two is ordinary.
