LIVING within a sculpture

The builder of this rammed earth house in Oratia, West Auckland, calls it a ‘sculpture of cast sandstone’ because of the warm, light colouring of the earthen walls. It is far from a mud house, more an ode to classic, Apollonian form and fuelled by an interest and love of aesthetics and the philosophy of space.
