Panasonic has thrown its hat into the full-frame mirrorless camera ring with the Lumix S1 and S1R. Both come with an LCD panel at the top offering a glimpse at the image settings while the back has a 3.2-inch display with 2.1 million dots which can be tilted at various angles. The EVF is claimed to be one of the largest used with a 5.76 million dot resolution that ensures what you see is what you get. They can support two cards with the slots located towards the right and one of them supports XQD standard. They have a 5 axis in-body stabilisation providing 6 stop shake reduction with an Image Stabiliser (IS) lens or 5.5 when using a non-IS lens. In burst mode, shooting is done at 9fps coming down to 6fps for continuous autofocus. What’s different is the 24MP sensor in S1 with an ISO sensitivity of 51200 and the 47.3MP sensor in the S1R topping at 25600 ISO.
