THE DAY I NEARLY BURNT OFF my face
It was a clear, late-autumn day in April, and I had prepared potato and leek soup for lunch. My husband had been ill and, when I took him the soup, he asked me to liquidise it, to make it easier for him to eat. My faithful Bosch liquidiser wasn’t working and we hadn’t yet replaced it, so I pulled out our Nutri Bullet 900 from the cupboard instead.
At this point, I have to admit that I had never read the manual or the safety instructions. However, it was not unfamiliar to me. I had seen it in use several times and I had even used it successfully to make smoothies.
I poured the liquid from the soup bowl into the vessel and switched it on. It took less than a minute for the soup to become super-soft. I removed the vessel with the liquid and placed it on the counter while I went to get a clean soup bowl.
