Black Ferns Sevens Captain

The Black Ferns Sevens captain has arguably become the most recognisable women’s player in the country and certainly the most inspirational.

Goss is a world class athlete who graduated from the Feilding High School nursery straight into the professional ranks.

She was part of the Black Ferns side that won the World Cup in 2013 and the captain when they retained it in 2018, as well as captaining the Ferns to silver in Rio and Gold at the Commonwealth Games.

She was also, almost unbelievably, a key member of the XV-a-side Ferns team that won the 2017 World Cup making her one of the most decorated and versatile players in the country.

Still only 25, she will be at the helm, all things going to plan, of the Black Ferns Sevens when they head to Tokyo in 2020 as Goss has decided to commit herself to just the abbreviated game through to 2020.

Her dedication to training drives standards for others and her work ethic and commitment when she plays are obvious. She’s a direct running off - loader with the ability to make game-changing tackles and her ability to stay in the fight is legendary.

But while she has been a source of inspiration to thousands on the field, she works just as hard off in it in that regard and has been instrumental in helping New Zealand Rugby capture the hearts and
