Tasmania’s location and isolation are the key elements to its burgeoning design community. The island designers have an ingrained aptitude for self-reliance to create distinctive products and architectural forms. And due to the mountainous terrain and positioning in the path of the roaring forties, there is a wealth of natural resources and produce.
Having trekked and camped throughout Tasmania’s far reaches over the decades, this trip was ostensibly to explore the designers of Hobart and Launceston, Australia’s second and third oldest cities,
