For the Love of Pete!
“Holy shit” is what I said out loud when I saw Peter Frampton on the cover of the July 2019 Guitar World. It is long overdue. I just had to write in to say thank you. I still get goosebumps when I hear the solo in “Live with Me” from Humble Pie’s 1970 album of the same name. You guys have really been on a roll lately, so keep up the good work. I’d love to see something on Clem Clempson (definitely one of my five favorite guitar players) in a future issue. Thanks again, GW!

The July was released. Rory Gallagher opened for him, and the whole concert was a guitar lover’s dream. However, I have to correct one thing in Andy Aledort’s lesson dedicated to Frampton’s style. He incorrectly credited Ray Charles with writing “I Don’t Need No Doctor.” That song was written by the great songwriting duo Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson. The Ray Charles song Humble Pie covered on was “Hallelujah (I Love Her So).”
