GIVEN THE OPTION, your average pre-teen would spend roughly 100% of their waking hours on the internet or watching TV. So would your average teen, for that matter. However, for some reason many parents feel that it’s occasionally valuable for their children to see the sun or other people or employ growing muscles before complete atrophy kicks in. And thus the concept of screen time was born – putting limits on the amount of time children spend online or watching TV.
