A WINTER’S TAIL
Some people leave their mark on you. Like this guy I know who’s not into films or fashion or new hotels. He doesn’t care what’s trending in the food, wine or craft beer industries. And his knowledge of pop culture is zip. But he does know how to keep a rusty Chevrolet Suburban running, tend to a wood stove fitted behind the front passenger seat and keep his husky team healthy as they chase winters across Alaska and the Yukon. At 74, he’s also dead certain he doesn’t want to stay at home on a couch and die: “I want to learn about living.”
