All the classic ingredients for any trail-chasing escapade, stirred vigorously with loose plans, a hearty dose of naïve optimism and a touch of love for pushing the ticker into the red. With these elements in peak supply in the Himalaya, it was with trail-junkie enthusiasm that I reasoned with my girlfriend, 'Nepal is the best place to get high into the mountains.’ We could train big days into our legs and 'knock the bugger off’.
