he prominent hill overlooking Randalls Bay where we live in southern Tasmania, is Echo Sugarloaf (199 metres). On an 1859 map it is marked simply as Sugar Loaf, a name given to many Australian hills because they looked like the cone-top blocks of sugar commonly sold in 19th Century Europe.
