Rekindling those blueberry thrills

As start-up business stories go, this one is still just a young bud. McLennan Brothers Berries was still being formally established as a business at the time of writing, but the genesis for the brand can be traced all the way back to the mid-1980s.

That’s when in the Grey Valley, with its micro-climate and nutrient-rich soils, Philip McLennan – with help from his family – planted the first, and only, blueberry orchard on the South Island’s West Coast.
