Golden Girls

If there’s one thing no one can ignore, it’s that Aussie women in sport are crushing it on the world stage. From Ash Barty winning the French Open at Roland-Garros (the first Australian woman in 46 years to take the title, rocketing to the world number one spot saw a need: to create a campaign that would celebrate our female athletes, putting them front and centre, where they always belonged. Since then, WinS has grown to become bigger than we could have ever dreamed. So much more than just an awards night, it’s become part of our DNA, and a huge part of what we stand for year-round. Which is why, on the cusp of our 2019 WinS Awards (due to be held in Sydney on October 16) we decided to go big – really big – and create yet another first: shooting three of our most high-profile athletes for the cover of this issue.
