Rhubarb is a herbaceous perennial vegetable

Liquorice, sweeping dales and fluffy puddings are among the many enjoyable delights Yorkshire has to offer, but one notable commodity that once held such prestige is now on the rise again: rhubarb.

Though commonly eaten and thought of as a fruit, due to, belonging to the Polygonaceae family, with some excellent varieties including ‘Grandad’s Favourite’, ‘Stockbridge Arrow’ and ‘Timperley Early’. Famous rhubarb dishes are predominantly dessert recipes, but a whole host of dishes can be prepared using rhubarb including pickles, salads and sauces.
