riday the 13th doesn’t exactly scream romance. Yet for Liz LaGory (31 and a designer) and Adam Hortenberry (28 and a (fittingly, the flick was projected on a wall during the event), and marked tables with symbols like a black cat or four leaf clover. Since Liz has a thing for palms and neon, a tropical theme emerged as well. “It was kind of a neon Havana nights meets Friday the 13th concept, an unexpected combo that ended up working together,” Liz says. The final touch? Liquid nitrogen ice cream made on-site. “The smoke from the nitrogen created an eerie mist,” she says. \
