In Georgia, you must be 18 years old to legally marry without parental consent. Both the bride and groom must present a valid form of ID to apply for a license. The bride and groom must apply together and in person. Some counties may require a divorce decree or a death certificate if either the bride or groom has been previously married. There is no waiting period to obtain the license, which is valid in the state of Georgia. Nonresidents must get their licenses in the county where they are getting married. In each county, probate court offices are open Monday through Friday, unless otherwise
