“With this record we realized that—individually, in some ways more than collectively—we had to come away from it feeling like we were able to express ourselves creatively within The Horrors,” says Faris Badwan. “If we came out of the record maybe thinking that we didn’t feel creatively satisfied, then we probably would have split up. You know, we’d made four records. We did pretty well. We’d been a band for 10 years. We could have easily quit and been happy with what we achieved.”
