ARPANA RAYAMAJHI

Rainbow-bright colours and graphic patterns are signature characteristics of New York-based Arpana Rayamajhi’s vibrant chokers, layered necklaces, and feathered earrings. The pieces echo both the city she grew up in, Kathmandu, and her adopted home, New York, where she moved to study at The Cooper Union School of Art. “Nepal is where I learned pretty much everything that a kid could learn: Love, family, happiness, sadness, culture, arts, and so on. New York is where I learned to be independent, an adult, and a hermit,” says Rayamajhi.

The designer started her label in 2014 while she was an arts student. Looking to make some money on the side, she crafted a few pieces of jewellery using beads she had from back home and a bead loom
