CAROLE KING was already well established as a songwriter and solo artist before she finally played her first overseas gig. This was in 1973 – when, flushed from the success of Tapestry, King released her follow-up, Fantasy. A concept album, the record finds King imagining herself as a number of different characters as they navigate both urban and suburban living. In “Haywood”, for instance, the narrator warns of the trappings of heroin addiction, while another stands on the side of civil rights activists in “You’ve Been Around Too Long”. Elsewhere, “A Quiet Place To Live” outlines the domestic goal of an impoverished city denizen, while “Corazón” reflects the vibrancy
