TOP SHOTS 2019

Much as we’d like to blame politicians (an approach that’s generally valid) it was Mother Nature who mucked up much of last season. The moors were hot when they should have been cool and vice versa, which together with an absence of rain did for many grouse moors. That was followed by a spell of capriciously northeasterly winds when many pheasant coverts are laid out for south-westerlies.

Despite these meteorological darkenings of our sport, the usual shooting stars did burn brightly, together with a new sprinkling of those on that meteoric path to fame guaranteed by inclusion in The Field’s Top Shots annual list.
