    Riverfly census shows alarming declines

    Results of a three-year study carried out by Salmon & Trout Conservation (S&TC) between 2015 and 2017 blamed industrial, agricultural and domestic pollution for the “worrying declines” of aquatic insects in English rivers.

    Of the dozen rivers sampled in the Riverfly Census, the Camel and Dove came top for water quality and the Welland and Wensum bottom.
