More ‘142s’ enter preservation

THE new year saw further sales of Class 142s by Angel Trains to various individuals and preservation groups. At least nine former Northern sets now look likely to be preserved.

After the move of Nos. 142029 to the Chasewater Railway (see last issue), the line took delivery of its second set No. 142030 from Worksop in early January. Like No. 142029, it will regain one of the early colour schemes applied to the ‘Pacer’ fleet, in this case Regional Railways colours.
