‘I couldn’t wait to GET PAINTING!’

When I quit my job as an advertising manager for a magazine publisher in Manchester, it was the push I needed to set up my own interiors business in a lovely little Derbyshire village,’ says Sharon. ‘I’ve always been into interiors, and over the years I’ve taken a screen-printing course, taught myself to sew and completed a diploma in interior design. We quickly sold our house and decided to rent a cottage in Cheshire.

‘This meant we could focus on starting our own business and test the water at craft markets and interiors fairs. After a year we managed to find an empty shop with a maisonette above it, in Derbyshire. It was originally a butcher’s shop and the whole place was available
