Just the job

A good pair of boots will provide strong ankle support

I mentioned last month that we would expect to walk around 10 miles on an average walked-up day. And that isn’t over manicured lawns or gravel pathways but over rough heather moorland, bracken-filled woodland or a boggy water meadow. Over the years, I have tried most makes of boot, from expensive leather-type wellies to cheaper ankle boots, and I have reached some conclusions. I will not put up with wet feet during a day’s shooting. If I am worrying about my feet I will not be concentrating on my shooting — and therein is the danger.
