In the July edition I remarked that due to the mild Northumberland winter and the resultant excellent condition of the roe deer, their fertility should be good — and so it would seem.
Part of the craft of deer management is being able to move undetected through woodland and to have the ability and patience to stay in one place for hours, if necessary. The reward for that patience is often rare close-up sights that most people never see.
