By the time you read this I should be up to my chest in River Tweed water somewhere near Coldstream trying to hook into a salmon or, tastier still, a fresh run sea trout.
I’m looking forward to wetting a line but had I known this year’s trip was going to clash with a long awaited shooters’ reunion party in deepest Suffolk I would have jiggled the booking so that the fishing started a week or so later.
But I couldn’t. These days you have to cough up a sizeable deposit almost a year
