Stake your ground

I have spent countless days at this time of year stalking rabbits and have become accomplished at it. When you have open cattle grounds or horse paddocks it can be a testing experience trying to get close enough for a confident shot. I have had a multitude of failed stalks on this type of ground. Without the aid of cover or shadow, the rabbits have little problem picking out your shape, so I would pick ground that will break up your outline.
