“I found out about Fish when I was about 16 or 17. One of the people I was hanging out with was a huge Marillion fan and he suggested I listen to them. It was 1988, they’d already; it wasn’t like anything else I’d heard. It wasn’t as complex musically as Yes, and it wasn’t as outlandish lyrically as Yes or Rush; Fish had a way of delivering lyrics that almost felt like poetry, and it just captured my attention. I love the first two albums, almost more than the others, just for Fish’s lyrics. I’ll never forget that first line [from ]:
