Swedish keyboard talent and all-round rock journeyman Per Wiberg has spent two decades onstage and in the studio with the likes of Opeth, Candlemass and Spiritual Beggars, among many others. His haunting new solo record, Head Without, evidences a new side of the inveterate ivory tickler, channelling a dynamic yet darkly hued range of experimental rock and post-punk influences into an album in which the experienced sideman finds himself, somewhat accidentally, positioned centre stage. quizzed him about the record’s noir aesthetic, the unfortunate legacy of keyboardists’ solo records and what he sees in a head without eyes.
