For the truly expanded cinema experience, one simply must (re)visit Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s in bed. I issue this proclamation from a place of fully absorbed experience, having both watched and expounded on the 1972 psycho-melo-chamber drama from my own queen-sized mattress, surrounded – like Petra herself – by a phone, cosmetics and my beverage of choice. An unorthodox arrangement, but fitting nonetheless.
