SNAPPER TURNED STUFFER

Earning a living as a photographer and a writer gives you few opportunities to be a team player. In the days when I was in advertising there were occasions when a photoshoot would involve an art director, a model, the client and the client handler, together with myself and an assistant. That’s as close as I’ve got. Even my favourite team sport, cricket, is arguably a set of individual performances for one cause. But there is a bit of me that relishes being part of something bigger, especially when it means being on the inside and making a difference to the day, however small a difference that is.

That’s one of the main reasons I decided to take up loading last year – to be a small cog in the machine making shooting tick. That and the opportunity to watch shooting (a spectator sport if ever there was one),
