THE EXPANSE EXPANDS ON AMAZON
“My character gets to be more herself than ever in season four!” promises Shohreh Aghdashloo, who plays Secretary-General of the United Nations Chrisjen Avasarala in The Expanse.
And why’s that? “There’s lots of swearing!” chimes in Frankie Adams, who plays Martian marine Bobbie Draper. “And that makes for our favourite version of Avasarala.”
In case you didn’t know, the sudden lack of restrictions on potty-mouths (and Avasarala is already renowned for her colourful cussing) has come about, having been cancelled by Syfy after season three, was saved by Amazon following a fan petition. It did no harm either that Amazon boss, Jeff Bezos, is a fan of the hard-as-nails SF space opera, often described as in space. And now it’s on Amazon, who knows how it might become? After all, the series’ main male character Jim Holden (Steven Strait) was last seen tastefully naked on a beach. A full frontal for the new season?
