FIRST FEST

rightFest is almost upon us (22-26 August) and this year marks its 20th anniversary. It also marks my 14th time at the fest. My very first year was 2005, when I saw three films: Jake West’s , Ti West’s and Paul Spurrier’s . I liked them all, but was my favourite – I still have a plastic ring with a bat on it from that, , and – my bad for not getting a weekend pass, but you never know what the breakouts will be. I’ve had a go at picking out some recommendations, based on past form and early buzz, but if I miss a couple of gems please don’t put me in a bear and burn me….
