Weird things happen in a roving COUNTRY LIFE contributor’s garden when he’s out somewhere on the road in the Karoo looking for stories. Birds fly overhead and occasionally drop stuff in the flower beds, and building contractors have been known to leave their smoke-break legacies had an accidental career as a dagga farmer. Then he gave it to his dog TwoPack to ease his old bones.
