THE RAINBOW ROAD

Let’s get this out of the way early. I’m an art nerd. Well, to be honest, I’m pretty much a general purpose, all-round nerd, but my love of art really adds to the aesthetic of my nerdiness. I’m an artist myself, making abstract works that revolve almost entirely around the use of color—specifically, the way that colors interact, and the optical effects that can be created by using particular colors together.

The colors found in nature are one of my biggest inspirations. While man-made hues (hi, Pantone) definitely make an impact with their artificial brightness, it’s Mother Nature’s palette that is really inspirational. All of the colors of the rainbow (which, in itself, is a mind-bending feat of natural insanity!) can be seen in the world around us, and the stunning landscapes of this country take full advantage of our visible spectrum. So, let’s take a North American trip through the ol’ ROYGBIV.
