I have a new identity: I’ve been a secret superhero for almost two years now. I am a full-time, solo RVer. Being in my 50s, I never dreamed there was another persona waiting to emerge from within me—especially one I am so proud and grateful to claim.

I didn’t mean to do it. Not really. I just needed to escape. As a career Regional Director and Supervising Prison Psychologist, my life had quite literally become my prison. Strapped with a mortgage and debt I would never pay off, I was trapped, shackled in what many call “golden handcuffs,” working merely to keep the house, the car, the debt churning. I had to find a way out.
