The father of America’s rifle is Eugene Stoner. Born November 2, 1922, only a few years after World War I, the inventor of the ArmaLite Rifle grew up in Southern California and worked in the aircraft industry prior to enlisting in the Marine Corps to serve in the South Pacific during World War II.
