rnest Emerson is an expert combatives instructor and a master knife designer who helped popularize tactical knives in the 1980s. In the late ’90s, he spawned a whole genre of “pocket-openers” when he invented the Emerson Wave-Shaped Feature, which snags on your pant and opens the blade as you draw the knife. He named this custom CQC-6 after the folks who asked him to build it three decades ago: SEAL Team Six. Some of the U.S. Navy’s most elite unit still rely on his designs. In fact, an Emerson knife was carried by a SEAL during
