My Sewing Box and Scissors Keeper

Finished scissors case size: 3" x 4½"

This is the second in my series of stitching accessories. I chose a rounded rectangular box but with a few modifications you can use this pattern to cover any size of paper mache box.

Material Requirements

The featured fabrics are plaid Homespuns by Diamond Textiles. The numbers in parentheses, below, refer to the fabric manufacturer’s numbers.

□ ¾ yard black Homespun for box base (HRIDGE 2640)

□ ½ yard gold Homespun for box lid side (PRF)

□ ⅛ yard charcoal Homespun for scissors outer case background (NIKKO 3765)

□ Fat eighth black/brown Homespun for scissors case lining (PIC 1569)

□ Scrap of cream Homespun for label (NIKKO 3804)

□ 7½" square brown plaid wool for background

□ 3" x 7½" light green print wool for grass

□ 2" x 4½" cream wool for sheep

□ 1½" x 2¼" black/white wool for sheep

□ 1½" x 2¼" gray wool for sheep

□ 3" square gold wool for stars

□ 2" x 4" solid black wool for sheep

□ 3½" x 4" red wool for flowers

□ 1¾" x 10" medium green print wool for stems

□ 4" square solid green wool for leaves

□ ⅓ yard Pellon 880F stabilizer

□ 8" square Soft Fuse

□ 7" x 7" x 4" rounded paper mache box
